Shaquille ONeal Gets Candid About The Regrets He Feels Regarding Friendship With Kobe Bryant Afte

Shaquille O’Neal has some regrets when it comes to his friendship with Kobe Bryant before his tragic loss back in January. On what would have been the basketball legend’s 42nd birthday on Sunday, his fellow baller stopped by USA Today and opened up about his grief and more.

During the chat with the news outlet, which was published yesterday, O’Neal emotionally stressed that ‘I do not want to see anyone go out like that and never to be able to ever talk to them again. The thing that hurt me was all ofthe stuff I wanted to say, I had not said it. I never said it. You never know what’s going to happen. So, you should not let stuff linger. Were we best of friends? No. Did we respect the h*ll out of each other? 1,000 percent. Do I wish we could have talked every day and hung out every day? Yes.’

As you remember, Kobe Bryant lost his life back in January in a shocking helicopter crash.

The accident caused his untimely death but also his 13 year old daughter Gianna’s passing and the deaths of other seven people that were on board at the time.

As for Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant, in the past they haven’t always agreed on things even while being a team at the Los Angeles Lakers.

Getting candid about their conflicts, O’Neal dished that ‘There’s a myth you have to be best friends to win any championships. We only have to have one thing, and that is respect. If he goes to the hole with 4 people coming, he is dropping it off to me. When I get double – or triple-teamed, I look for him first. He knows that I need him. I am damn sure that he knows he needs me. I was just hurt I’d never be able to tell him anything ever again.’
