The Flash's Wally West to Join DC's Legends of Tomorrow
According to EW, actor Keiynan Lonsdale will be joining DC’s Legends of Tomorrow for the show’s third season. The news comes following the departure of series regulars Victor Garber and Franz Drameh, who both recently left the show last month, two years after the show first premiered in 2016.
According to EW, Lonsdale will appear as his character, Wally West/Kid Flash, in episode 11 of Legends, before officially joining the team in episode 13.
After Lonsdale’s character, Wally West, announced that he would be leaving Team Flash on season four of The Flash, fans of both shows immediately speculated that Lonsdale would eventually join Legends of Tomorrow, especially after his character made a guest appearance on the show’s season 3 premiere. The episode revealed that Wally West had befriended “Legends” member Nate Heywood/Steel, only strengthening fans’ theories about Wally West becoming a “Legend” himself.
Executive producer Phil Klemmer said that both he and the cast “loved” working with Lonsdale in the season premiere, and after witnessing Wally West leave Team Flash to go on a journey to discover himself as a hero, he felt that Lonsdale “would fit in perfectly on Legends.”
“After all, our show is about a collection of unlikely heroes who all began their journeys questioning who they are and where they belong — only to find those answers while traveling through time and having wacky adventures,” Klemmer states.
He adds, “By the end of this season, Wally will learn that the Legends have a different definition of what it means to be a hero.”
DC’s Legends of Tomorrow returns Monday, Feb. 12 at 8 p.m. on The CW.
